Between the distant slopes of Mt. Werner and the peaceful waters of Steamboat Lake, sits the Elk River Ranch. Located on 695 acres on the fertile ground of the Elk River Valley, the ranch is accessible yet private.

Extending north from Steamboat Springs, the Elk River Valley drains the west side of the Park Range and the Mount Zirkel Wilderness. The Elk River is a main tributary of the Yampa River, which drains the majority of Northwest Colorado.
From Steamboat Springs, a short 15 minute drive takes you to a well-maintained county road that runs right to the property. The Elk River Ranch is located between Steamboat Springs and Clark. Clark, which is less than 7 miles away, is home to the well-known Clark Store and various guest and dude ranches that are famous for this area. Another 8 mile drive will take you to the historic town of Hahns Peak and the recreational paradise of Steamboat Lake.

STEAMBOAT SPRINGS

Steamboat’s local airfield, the Bob Adams Airport, supports private jets and is less than 10 minutes away. The Yampa Valley Regional Airport, supporting commercial airlines, is located about 20 miles to the southwest, near the town of Hayden.

The town of Steamboat Springs is a charming community with approximately 12,000 residents. Steamboat is a unique Colorado town; famous for its world class skiing, but still bursting with ranching tradition. The town still maintains its western heritage, small-town character and strong sense of community.

Steamboat Ski Area is world famous for its fluffy powder and epic tree skiing. The town boasts good schools and wonderful restaurants as well as the regional health care center. People of all ages are attracted to Steamboat not just because of the vibrant, active community but also because of the thriving businesses that are based in Steamboat. National and international companies such as Smartwool, Big Agnes, Moots Cycles and BOA Technology all have roots in the Yampa Valley. You won’t find any malls in Steamboat but you can shop at an eclectic array of quality stores, many of which are housed in 100-year-old buildings along Main Street.

Steamboat has an elevation of 6,700 feet and a mild climate that has never broken 100 degrees. With an abundance of sunshine and picturesque scenery this place is almost paradise.
